Introduced in 1999, Dasani is a brand of bottled water produced by The Coca-Cola Company and is available in the US, Canada, and the UK. Its water comes from municipal sources that are then purified through reverse osmosis to remove any impurities or contaminants.

Dasani has created a stir over the years, given worries about the quality of their water and its environmental effects. In 2004, due to the presence of bromate, a potentially cancer-causing chemical in high amounts, an urgent recall was necessitated in UK. Additionally, in 2007 it was criticized for dubbing Dasani as “purified water”, because the process of distillation or other methods used to make purified water weren’t employed.
